Kai Ping Culinary School Alumni Shine Brightly! Featured on the 2023 Michelin Star List and Special Awards

The “Taiwan Michelin Guide 2023” concluded grandly, showcasing the brilliant performance of Kai Ping Culinary School alumni. Several restaurants managed or led by these alumni received star recognition, and one alumnus even won the once-in-a-lifetime “Michelin Guide Young Chef Award.” The announcement of the list filled the entire school with pride and inspired the younger students to follow in the footsteps of their outstanding predecessors, continually striving for excellence in the culinary arts.

This year’s Michelin Guide highlights the explosive growth of Taiwan’s fine dining scene, with diverse dining brands flourishing in various cities, infusing the culinary industry with abundant international energy. The relentless efforts and dedication of Kai Ping Culinary School alumni have continued to make their mark. In the newly listed one-star restaurants, “Banbo,” run by Kai Ping alumni Su, Pin-Rui (Steven Su) and Li, Cheng, achieved its star status within less than a year of opening. Additionally, Su, Pin-Rui won the special “Michelin Guide Young Chef Award,” making him a standout rising star in the industry. Furthermore, “T+T,” founded by alumni and holding a star for three consecutive years, and “A CUT Steakhouse,” where an alumnus serves as the chef, both received one-star honors, demonstrating remarkable achievements.

Kai Ping Culinary School is dedicated to cultivating professional culinary talents and is the only high school globally certified by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (Worldchefs) for its culinary program.
